Posted by The Appliance Parts Experts on 7/6/2016 to Appliance Maintenance

A mildew odor can be a familiar smell to a front loading washing machine. Although it is common, does not mean it isn’t preventable. Follow our simple cleaning and precautionary steps below to enjoy an odor-free washer:

1.       Wipe off the inside of the door glass and the door gasket at the end of every load of laundry.

2.       Keep your washer door slightly open when not in use to allow for air to circulate and dry it out.

3.       Clean the detergent dispenser out at the end of each cycle to remove any buildup in suds by thoroughly wiping it out with a rag.

4.       Be sure to sanitize your machine every month with Washer Magic. This cleaner is effective at eliminating residue buildup that causes strong odor smells. Cleaning your washer regularly will not only keep odors out, but also allow for your clothes to come out even cleaner.
