How to Load the Dishwasher

How often do you load the dishwasher? Often? What if you were told that you were loading it wrong? Shockingly, when it comes to loading the dishwasher, there may be a few things that could be being loaded wrong. Read below for how to properly load the dishwasher.

There are spray arms within the dishwasher that shoots water and detergent on dishes. If they are blocked and cannot move, then this results in a poor cleaning job. So to fix this problem, make sure that there isn’t anything that could fall through to the bottom. For example, for pots and pans, make sure to place them on the side so the handle doesn’t slip through and block the spray arm process.

Leave space in between fragile glasses and cups. The water does make them move around a little bit, so to prevent the glasses from knocking together and possibly breaking and cracking, leave a little space in between them.

Furthermore, don’t let dinnerware touch. Leave some breathing room for the plates, bowls and other dishes. They may not break, but dirt can get stuck between get trapped. When placing bowls, cups or any other dish that can hold water, make sure to place them face down so the water can drain instead of sit.

Keep plastic on the top shelf. Since the heating element is located toward the bottom and some tupperware is more fragile than others, keep the plastic up top away from the element. If plastic is placed at the bottom of the machine near the heating element, then the plastic can deform and become no good.
