Updating Your Kitchen on a Budget
The new year has arrived, and with that comes new year's resolutions - all the things we'd like to achieve or start doing before the next year sneaks up on us.  But sometimes our resolutions are easier said than done.  Any of these sound familiar?

"Get organized", "Get healthy", "Stop procrastinating", "Finally have my dream kitchen"

As much as we'd like to stick with them, it can be hard to know where to start or how to manage.  But it doesn't have to be.  The secret is to start with small changes.

For example, feel like a new kitchen will never be in the budget?  You might not be able to afford all new appliances or a complete remodel just yet, but there are a few affordable changes you can make to update things and make a big difference.

A good cleaning: Sometimes it can be as simple as cleaning up.  Scrubbing down your counter-tops, moping the floors, wiping off cabinets, and shining up your appliances with a little help from a good cleaner can make your kitchen look like new.

Swap out your fixtures: Changing the look of your kitchen can be as simple as changing the knobs or handles on your cabinets.  Another easy update is to replace any stained, worn, or damaged knobs, handles, grates, touch pads, or grilles on your appliances.  These parts are usually pretty affordable and easy to replace yourself.

A fresh coat of paint: Tired of the color scheme in your kitchen? Try a new color on the walls or refinish your cabinets.  You can also use specialty paint to fix scratches or scuffs on your appliances or to even give them a whole new look.

Add some interest: Hang a statement piece like a pendant light or swap out your curtains to change things up. Small plants and counter accessories are another great way to personalize your space without breaking the bank.

All these small changes really add up, and being able to check something of your list can make it a lot easier to stick with it.  Make this the year to make it happen!
