This cold control thermostat WR09X20002 is used on GE made refrigerators including GE, Hotpoint and some Sears Kenmore refrigerators.  

The temperature control thermostat monitors the temperature inside the refrigerator and controls the compressor to keep the refrigerator cold. 

Unplug the refrigerator before replacing the temperature control.
