Crock-Pot Cleaning!

Posted by Jessica Zoldowski on 10/29/2018 to Appliance Maintenance

Crock-pot season is here, but it doesn’t seem to look like it is 100% clean and ready to go.You may be using it all year round, but it’s time to get it back in tip top shape. Read below for a simple solution to clean the crock-pot/slow-cooker.

What you’ll need:

  • Small  bowl

  • Ammonia

  • Crock-pot/slow-cooker

First, pour ammonia into a small bowl and put it at the bottom of the crock-pot. Afterwards, put the cover over the crock-pot and walk away. It is that easy. The fumes from the ammonia will take care of the job. You can have it sit for a few hours, all day or overnight.

After it has been sitting for awhile, take the bowl out of the crock-pot and pour it out. Then wipe down the inside. Any burnt on food items should wipe right off.

To give is a little extra scrub, mix hydrogen peroxide and baking soda to scrub whatever is left over.

TA-DA, you’re done!
