Where All Your Socks Are Really Disappearing To In Your Washer

If you’ve ever done a load of laundry to realize you were missing socks and other small items by the end of it, we can understand your frustration. This issue is common in many GE, Speed Queen, Maytag and Bosh front load washers. We’ve done our research and are here to tell you exactly where all those laundry items are hiding.

When you open the door to your washer, you will see a rubber gasket that goes all the way around the gap between the door and the wash tub. Lift up the gasket seal and prepare yourself to find where all your favorite socks have been hiding from you for years.

During the wash cycle, as these items get pushed to the front of the machine, sometimes they get stuck inside the gasket and aren’t able to make their way back out. Now that you know exactly where they’ve been hiding all this time, you can eliminate your washer’s consumption of your socks by checking it regularly to clean out anything that may get trapped.
